"Entangled Rollup means building interoperability on a radically different protocol scheme that is actually relying on precondition instead of message passing. So with that, it can be as secure as the base layer.” - Ming Guo, Chief Scientist at @ProjectZKM
Most cross-chain 'bridges' still hinge on operators, multisigs, or economic incentives. @DacEconomy, Chief Scientist at ZKM, argues that if we want Bitcoin and @Ethereum values - permissionless use, censorship resistance, and true self-custody - to survive across layers, then security must rely on cryptography.
That’s the motivation behind ZKM’s Entangled Rollup: Ming explains that instead of passing messages between chains, you move value when a pre-condition is proven. Chain B accepts an action only if a zero-knowledge proof attests that the required state on Chain A really holds. No trusted relayer to corrupt, no weakest-link multisig; just verifiable computation anchoring every hop.
ZKM is building the proof engine for this - Ziren, a general-purpose zkVM that can attest to arbitrary execution. @GOATRollup, a Bitcoin L2, plugs into that engine: it generates proofs for its blocks with Ziren and uses a BitVM-based verification path so that the blockchain can check outcomes with minimal trust.
In this model, you “trust the math”, not a bridge committee.
