[ While looking at a Charizard-type post, I thought of Sentient ] The quoted text discusses the hacking of DeFi projects on non-EVM chains. And there are various discussions happening in the comments, but I was drawn to the conversation below. That's right. The reason Uniswap was able to grow this much is that Uniswap is also open source. Ethereum is open source, and Uniswap is open source as well. The two things I think are the biggest in blockchain are both open source. But why in AI? Most AI models are closed, and the code is not known, and we cannot know how our information is used. Users just remain consumers. I use GPT a lot, but I am just a paying consumer for the monthly subscription. Sentient is breaking this mold. Of course, it may perform worse than existing corporate AIs. However, because anyone can contribute, I believe it can develop faster than expected. Open source projects have continued to grow and expand, just like we have seen before. It was the same in...
Why are non-EVM chains frequently represented by major DeFi hacks? I have a fear of depositing large amounts into DeFi on non-EVM chains. In fact, on chains like Sui, Aptos, and Stacks, which are not EVM-based, there have been many cases where the main DeFi protocols have been hacked. Because of this, even though I know that the deposit rewards from @MMTFinance will be attractive due to airdrops, I cannot send a lot of assets. So why are non-EVM chains more prone to hacking? Hacking a blockchain is very difficult. (I was going to write it's nearly impossible, but I changed my mind.) However, writing programs (smart contracts) for DeFi is done by humans, and humans always make mistakes. Therefore, DeFi always has to bear the worst risk of protocol hacking. EVM chains have also historically experienced extremely large DeFi hacking incidents. Through this process, the Ethereum and EVM ecosystem have countless open-source projects represented by OpenZeppelin, Uniswap, Curve, etc., that...
